Conditions of Employment
- US Citizen.
- Read small print found on surveys. Drive, climb stairs, and walk for extended periods.
- Occasionally be required to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Work days, evenings, and weekends.
- Work a varying number of hours per week.
- Occasionally travel overnight for training and work assignments.
- Access to a vehicle (or public transportation) to complete work throughout the assigned geographic area.
- Establish and maintain a safe work environment in your residence.
- Use all methods of communication (face to face, phone call, emails, letter, etc.).
- Access to a landline or mobile phone.
- Internet connection at your residence. If internet is not available in your area, must connect to a cellular network.
- Qualified for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation.
- Registered for Selective Service at the time of hire, if applicable.
- Meet all qualification requirements by the time of hire.
- A one or two-year trial period is required (dependent upon veteran's status).
- This is a NON-BARGAINING unit position.
Duties
Conducts interviews primarily in person (door to door) and when requested may conduct phone interviews to collect survey or census data as required within an assigned geographic area.
Communicates with respondents, supervisors, and other persons as appropriate.
Understands survey materials in order to explain the purpose of surveys, ask questions as worded on the questionnaire or survey instrument, and enters accurate and complete information into a laptop computer or onto survey forms.
Maintains personal payroll records that reflect hours worked, miles driven, and reimbursements for travel and communications claimed.
Completes and attends training as necessary in-person or online.
