TESTING TECHNICIAN I

Summary: Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Identifies parts for replacement and machines that need new parts and places orders as necessary. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: + Perform inspection and testing procedures per test sheet QF8262 on the equipment using available/designed test equipment + Comply to and demonstrate safe work ethics + Set-up (bolt on fittings) and disassembly of equipment to be tested + Daily maintenance of testing equipment and test facility + Assist senior technicians in the performance of their duties + Assist all departments as required to achieve product deadlines + Maintain test area and test equipment, including cleaning and or painting + Perform other related duties as assigned + This list of “Essential Functions” is not intended to be limiting. Qualifications: + High School diploma or GED required; graduate of a technical/vocational training program is preferred. + Minimum one year mechanical experience preferred. Knowledge in the use of precision measuring devices. + Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and learn all basic test procedures. + Ability to write simple correspondence and fill out test forms. + Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. + Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. + Must be able to convey ideas and concepts verbally or by sketch. + Must be able to read and understand various service manuals, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting guides. + Must be able to read and understand the Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc.
