Technician Job Number: 353069 Category: Maintenance General Description: Job Title: Technician Location: Orlando, FL Zip Code: 32819 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Contract Pay Rate: From $38.03 /hr DoE Keywords: #Technician #Aerospace #OrlandoJobs JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Fabricate test equipment that will be used in the development and manufacture of tactical hardware. * Responsible for reading, interpreting, and occasionally correcting engineering drawings/schematics. * The test equipment fabricated can include test sets, test boxes, cables, and other assemblies or subassemblies. * Place and solder components on circuit cards and subassemblies. * The fabrication of wiring harnesses will require connector pinning and depinning, and applying mounting hardware. * In addition, these lower level assemblies are to be built-up into single, or multi-bay cabinet assemblies, for the delivery to Engineering or Manufacturing Production areas. * Collaborating with Engineers, and other members of the Fabrication team including other Fabricators, Draftsmen, Procurement, and Quality Inspectors. * Daily activity would include not only a fast-paced fabrication environment, but it would also include using several computer based programs that will update job status, Quality Inspections, and Engineering changes. * This position is expected to operate under moderate supervision. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma * At least 1 year of experience in electrical fabrication (cable and harness, SMT board, test equipment, etc.) * 3-5 years of soldering experience * 3-5 years of experience with reading drawings/schematics * 3-5 years of experience troubleshooting/fault isolation equipment * Ability to fabricate electrical test equipment designs from a blueprint of the layout, schematic, bill of material, and engineering practices manual as guidelines. * Ability to communicate issues with the design and or the process requirements to management and or design engineers. * Strong knowledge and experience in repairs of electro-mechanical assemblies * Knowledge basic avionics and electronics * Knowledge of troubleshooting and fault isolation of components using general purpose and/or automated test equipment * Knowledge of automated and/or general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers and waveform generators) * Knowledge of the interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, and test and repair procedures * Familiarity with industrial standards, military specifications and industry processes * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to lift 35 pounds. * Ability to adapt to dynamic and frequently changing customer requirements * Ability to understand policies and procedures for the control of Government property * Ability to work with hazardous materials * Ability to properly safety wire assemblies and connectors * Ability to solder and repair cables and harnesses * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Knowledge of solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721 * Knowledge of fault isolation for electro-mechanical components * Knowledge of concepts for hardware repair. * Experience with CCA component rework and repair * Rework experience with BGAs and electrical maintenance and rework Benefits: * Medical / Health Benefits with multiple plan options, Flexible Spending Accounts, Dental and Vision / glasses / prescription contact lens and eye test options available. * On the job training / cross-training to develop and expand skills, creating opportunity for advancement and personal development.
