As Chief of Technology and Product Development - Mission Systems Group, you will be at the forefront of shaping our future, fostering a culture of innovation, and leading the development of new products and services to expand existing market footprints or enter new markets. Your strategic vision will not only influence our product roadmap but also our business model, ensuring we stay ahead of market trends and innovate new technologies that deliver top and bottom-line growth.
It is contemplated the initial focus of time will be 60% in our aerospace and defense business (Mission Systems Group) and 40% at the corporate level in generation of ideas for new markets. The position will also interface with our Surface Transportation Group to assess their technology capabilities and transferability to new markets such as critical infrastructure monitoring, pipelines or autonomous vehicles. After an initial 3 months and as needed thereafter, the split of time, focus and cost allocation will be adjusted as necessary based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop and implement an innovation strategy that assess key areas such as existing and new market needs, core technology capabilities, new product/service ideas, and roadmaps for taking products and services to market.
+ Lead cross-functional teams to ideate, develop, and launch innovative products and services.
+ Lead the Intellectual Property Management and Patent strategy.
+ Work with our program technologists to develop concepts for larger scale offerings to our customers (exit the prototype mode and think how to scale up to volume).
+ Foster a culture of innovation within the organization, encouraging creative thinking and continuous improvement.
+ Collaborate across the company to integrate innovation into all aspects of the business, from product development to market strategy.
+ Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics to guide the company's innovation agenda.
+ Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including startups, academic institutions, and industry leaders, to explore collaborative innovation opportunities.
+ Oversee the innovation pipeline, ensuring a balanced portfolio of initiatives that support both short-term and long-term growth.
+ Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies that can enhance our product offerings and operational efficiency.
+ Measure and report on the impact of innovation initiatives, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
+ Champion the company's vision and innovation achievements, both internally and externally, to inspire stakeholders and attract top talent.
