Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Operations Support, CBP Watch located in Orlando, Florida. Responsibilities Joining Customs & Border Protection will allow you to use your expertise to analyze and advise management on a wide range of program activities which will impact the entire agency. This position starts at a salary of $103,409.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $134,435.00 (GS-13, Step 10) Duties include but not limited to: Providing formal oversight for such initiatives as the development of inter/intra-agency radio communications support guidelines, directives, and standard operating procedures; the formulation of criteria for software and hardware enhancements; the evaluation of radio network enhancements subsequent to their implementation; and conducting specialized training. Serving on top-level review committees and as a principle point of contact for these same organizations on matters pertaining to the accuracy and availability of enforcement data Identifying critical milestones for assigned projects; preparing criteria for evaluating product deliverables; and obtaining clearances and approvals from network user agencies prior to implementing new policies and procedures affecting their operations. Utilizing state-of-the-art communication technologies to resolve complex integration and interoperability problems. Developing project action plans, write correspondence and reports, and orally convey technical findings in a highly effective manner. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Utilizing cryptographic systems and applying their operational capabilities Utilizing state of the art communication technologies to resolve complex integration and interoperability problems. Additional Information Supervisory Probationary Period: You may be required to serve an 18-month probationary period upon appointment. Leadership Training: All newly appointed second level Supervisors are required to complete mandatory training. The training will be scheduled by the Office of Training and Development within the first 90 days of appointment. The duration of the training will include 3 weeks of in-residence training in Harpers Ferry, WV. Note: This training may be waived if previously completed. Security Clearance: You may be required to obtain a Secret clearance for this position. Shift Operations: Supervises an operation carried out on at least three fully staffed shifts 24x7x365 basis.
