**Job Summary**
The Substation Electrician will handle material takeoffs, manage electrical tasks within substation construction projects. This role will communicate with the project management team to understand the expectations of each project to stay within budget. This person will be knowledgeable of NEC and work within those guidelines.
Responsibilities
+ Ability to read blue prints.
+ Material takeoffs, manage electrical tasks within substation construction Projects.
+ Must possess working knowledge of the electrical industry.
+ Must have good knowledge of the NEC and work within those guidelines.
+ Communicate with project management team to understand the expectations of each project to stay within budget.
+ Enforces the MasTec quality program and ensure that appropriate safety guidelines are followed in the performance of the work by staff and vendors and ensures that work practices meets or exceeds all current company and industry standards and applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
+ Understand, train and enforce the company quality program, processes and standards.
+ Implement and achieve the company Zero Defect Policy.
Qualifications
+ High School graduate with 5+ years of industry trade experience.
+ Experience with AC electrical.
+ Computer skills are highly recommended.
+ Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to establish, manage, plan and think strategically.
+ Ability to Build and Foster Collaborative Relationships.
+ Demonstrate excellent decision-making abilities.
**Preferred**
+ Licensed State Journeyman Electrician
**Physical Demands and Work Environment**
This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
