**Job Summary**
The Nightwing team is looking for interns to work as RF specialists. The candidates will have knowledge and experience with signal processing algorithms and techniques in both the analog and digital domains. This includes experience programming for fixed-point and floating-point Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) such as Texas Instruments and Analog Devices. The candidate must demonstrate understanding of basic signal topics such as Nyquist theorem, analog-to-digital converter (ADC), digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and I/Q imbalance. Advanced candidate will have experience with modem signal processing and analysis techniques such as filter design, discrete Fourier transforms (DFTs), beamforming, Forward Error Correction (FEC) and equalizers.
**Responsibilities to Anticipate**
+ Investigating and developing RF technologies and techniques
+ Validating the resulting RF concepts through test, measurement, and characterization in an RF lab environment
+ Assignments will range from initial research and prototyping to full solution development
**Basic Qualifications**
+ U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance
+ GPA of 3.0+ in a 4.0 grade scale is desired
+ Understanding of RF systems including: antennas, power amplifiers, RF circuits, analog circuits, A/D & D/A converters
+ Understanding of various modulation techniques such as: ASK, PSK, FSK and QAM
+ Prior RF lab environment experience with extensive knowledge of assorted test equipment
+ Candidates must be professional, possess a positive attitude, and work well with engineering and technical teams
+ Experience in radio design / trouble-shooting with expertise in RF
+ Good problem solving, prioritization, planning skills, highly motivated and result focused

+ Currently enrolled an accredited college or university in a Bachelor or Master's degree program in Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
**Preferred qualifications**
+ Microprocessors architecture and programming: Digital signal processors, microcontrollers, etc.
+ Familiarity with FPGA development, including algorithm design and VHDL implementation
+ Knowledge of radio architectures including radio topics such as: PA compression, intermodulation, phase noise, harmonics, products, LO leakage, etc
+ Use expertise to perform reverse engineering to find root cause through unique test bench setup
+ Familiarity with networking and wireless protocols
+ Experience with Kubernetes/Docker
+ Experience with Gitlab or other CI/CD Pipeline Platforms
+ Critical thinking skills: must display strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical capabilities when interacting with managers, peers, and stakeholders
+ Communication skills: must be able to listen carefully to accurately gather facts from managers, peers, and stakeholders. Must be able to clearly articulate the results of your work and present findings in written reports. Must be able to organize, facilitate, and collaborate within cross-functional teams – demonstrating a collaborative mindset and ability to work with varying and changing needs
+ Attention to detail: must pay strong attention to detail in order to be able to keep information accurate and organized while utilizing skills and knowledge to quickly learn about the project

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
