**Requisition ID: 279367** + **Relocation Authorized: National - Family** + **Telework Type: Full-Time Office/Project** + **Work Location: Kennedy Space C** # Project Overview: The Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) Project is to provide the design, procurement, construction, and start-up of a launch platform for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The purpose of ML2, located at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), is to provide a launch platform for the Space Launch System (SLS), an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America's need for deep space missions. ML2 includes many different subsystems that must operate and fit within the constraints of the structure and provide physical interface with KSC launch sites' ground systems. # Job Summary: The Planning Lead plays a key role in a dynamic Project Controls team. The position is responsible for establishing planning and scheduling requirements, processes, and practices for the project in line with corporate procedures and customer requirements. The Planning Lead provides coaching and technical guidance to the planning team on a wide range of planning and project controls topics, establishing an innovative and rewarding team environment that delivers a compliant, functional, and integrated project plan that supports project execution. The Planning Lead also plays a hands-on role in developing solutions to complex technical and project execution challenges, assuring schedule accuracy and reliability (both in meetings and through schedule health analytics), and analysis of the forecast schedule needed to deliver value in the project execution management and decision-making process. # Major Responsibilities: + Directs all schedule development, maintenance and monitoring activities. + Develops, interprets, and executes policy objectives and standards applicable to schedule development, maintenance and monitoring. + Directs schedule analysis/study and problem-solving activities. Develops and interprets guidelines applicable to the analysis function. + Directs schedule reporting activities and assists and guides the display or presentation of schedule information. + Responsible for maintaining compliance with contractual and corporate schedule requirements, including those elements related to the project's Earned Value Management System certification. + Responsible for maintaining configuration control of the baseline schedule and supporting the project's baseline change control process. + Works with all departments to ensure understanding of schedule interactions and dependencies. + Identifies schedule considerations and problems resulting from interdisciplinary or group restraints and interfaces. + Responsible for coordinating and reviewing the integration of Engineering, Procurement and Construction work scope into the total project plan, including identification of key interfaces with internal and external entities. + Responsible for coordinating and reviewing the establishment and tracking of progress on meaningful intermediate milestones through all phases of project execution. + Responsible for coordinating and reviewing effective planning of activity durations and logic (including appropriate constraints) to support project milestones and overall delivery objectives. + Responsible for coordinating and reviewing schedule resource loading and leveling. + Prepares and coordinates the development of staffing and execution plans for planning and scheduling activities. + Prepares, coordinates, and directs planning and scheduling presentations to Bechtel and client management, as required. + Conducts personnel performance reviews and career counseling. + Interviews candidates for employment and makes recommendations for employment decisions. # Education and Experience Requirements: + Must possess at least a bachelors' (BS/BA) degree from an accredited university and ten (10) or more years of relevant professional experience, or in lieu of a degree, high school diploma or equivalent and fourteen (14) or more years of directly relevant professional experience. + Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the US per contract requirements. + Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education. + All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment and successfully go through a government screening process. Unescorted access approval is required. + Candidate must successfully clear government background check # Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Demonstrated advanced capability level with Primavera (P6) and experience in its application on complex engineering and construction projects. + Experience and demonstrated skill in directing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and in the home office. + Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for project planning and scheduling activities. + Skilled in direction, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel. + Skilled in oral and written communication, with a demonstrated ability to present planning and scheduling information to management and clients. + Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems. + Knowledgeable about current industry and technical developments. + Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes. + Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience. **Preferred:** + Proven track record of successful project controls planning and scheduling delivery. + Demonstrated flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities. + Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives. # Total Rewards/Benefits: For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of engineers and beyond!
