This role sits in the Data Products & Platforms (DPP) team Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. The Lead Software Engineer position will report to the Manager of Software Engineering. We are seeking experience with cloud platforms and can create scalable solutions for data platforms. You will develop products and tooling, provide technical expertise, and ensure the delivery of features and capabilities for the Data Platform and Products team. You will be part of a group of experienced developers who build technical solutions that support the entire DX segment, powering the interactions and experiences that create magic for our guests. **You Will:** + Write clean, well documented, performant, and testable application code + Write infrastructure-as-code to deploy and maintain infrastructure + Create tooling to automate and test code and platforms + Design low-level implementation details of software, which data structures, class/function/code organization, etc. + Propose technical implementation approaches which support architectural changes that address scaling and performance problems + Proactively seek opportunities to reuse or generalize existing services and implementations + Know the latest new technologies and best approaches in the field of data management and software engineering + Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other members of the team + Conduct code review pull-requests with consistent scrutiny **You Have:** + 7+ years of software development experience across diverse domains, with at least two years of experience in data management and distributed systems solving problems + Expertise coding and developing solutions that solve complex problems, while keeping in mind code space and time complexity + Proficiency with Python software development + Experience designing and implementing solutions using AWS services, with an understanding of at least some core services: IAM, S3, Kinesis Data Stream, Kinesis Firehose, Lambda, DynamoDB, DMS + Proficiency in DevOps practices, e.g.,: CI/CD, docker, testing, and automation + Experience with infrastructure-as-code, e.g.: Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, etc. + Experience with real-time data processing using Apache Flink + Understanding of trade-offs between different data storage systems and architectures (data warehouses, SQL vs NoSQL, partitioning, etc.) + Knowledge of agile development approaches and DevOps concepts **Required Education:** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience. **Preferred Education:** + Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience. \#DISNEYTECH The hiring range for this position in Washington is $156,292.00 to $209,660.00 per year and in California is $149,240.00 to $200,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
