Kuiper Production Operations is looking for an experienced IT support engineer to join our team. This role will own IT support for Kuiper launch facilities. As an IT support engineer, you will provide technical support for end-user, network, and production equipment.
Key job responsibilities
- Apply troubleshooting methodologies and/or coding skills to resolve and root cause difficult IT support problems.
- Define requirements and manage delivery of IT projects that involve multiple technical teams
- Lead continuous improvement efforts
- Audit the quality of technical work performed and provide constructive feedback when necessary
- Automate manual tasks; create/improve small tools that help make team operations more efficient
- Participate in hiring, training and development of others
- High attention to detail and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- On-call for high-severity issues outside standard hours
- Drives engineering best practices (e.g., Operational Excellence, Security, Quality, etc.) and set standards.
- Ability to travel international up to 30%
A day in the life
You start the day with reviewing critical incidents that need to be prioritized. After addressing immediate concerns, you will join the daily stand up and work on sprint tasks and support tickets. While participating on a rotating on-call schedule, you will prepare and lead the team Operational Excellence meetings and represent IT support in the organization level operations meeting. Operational excellence and Customer obsession are core values of this role as we own providing best in class service to the critical launch operations team.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science or equivalent
- Experience working with Windows and Linux Server technologies
- Proficiency with one or more programming/scripting languages.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products and applications, Linux, Cisco IOS (CLI) experience
- 3+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment and liquidation experience (i.e. Windows, macOS, Linux)
- 3+ years of networking (such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP) experience
- 3+ years of troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting video conference and teleconference equipment
- Experience driving IT projects to completion with little supervision
- Ability to manage high priority projects and explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Network Certification (CCNA) is preferred.
