Instructional Radiologic Technologist

This is a full-time staff position in the Clinical Sciences Department within Academic Affairs.
Duties include the modeling of proper x-ray positioning to the chiropractic student in the study of radiographic positioning as well as performing ongoing, average maintenance of radiographic equipment. Will support the Palmer Florida Clinic as needed.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
+ Responsible to the assigned administrator and has a support responsibility to all other departments and college personnel as necessary.
+ Responsible for working with Palmer College students and colleagues as needed.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Perform radiographs and model proper positioning for X-Rays to chiropractic students.
+ Basic maintenance of radiology equipment and supplies.
+ Maintain compliance with federal, state and local safety and health regulations, maintenance of safe laboratory environment.
+ Coordinate learning and remediation activities as needed to meet the needs of chiropractic radiology students.
+ Perform all responsibilities in a manner that fully complies with Palmer’s Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policy.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
+ Experience with preparing others to use radiology equipment (preferred).
+ Ability to utilize general office equipment and other necessary radiology equipment.
+ Ability to work effectively with others.
+ Ability to work independently and autonomously.
+ Ability to communicate effectively.
+ Ability to work 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. in the radiology positioning suite and in the clinic as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates must have a high school diploma plus two years of additional schooling with an R.T. degree program. Requires at least one year of work-related experience and ARRT Certification. Must be licensed by the Florida Department of Health.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
+ Performs sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted, and temperature-controlled office setting.
+ Frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the workday.
