The HSE Intern will assist with health and safety processes and compliance activities in a manner consistent with corporate policies and regulatory laws. This is a paid internship - 40 hours per week for 8 - 10 weeks in an office environment; this is not a remote position.
**YOUR IMPACT**
+ Assist HSE Manager with risk management and environmental programs
+ Maintain health and safety projects and documents
+ Maintain safety, health and industrial hygiene records to ensure regulatory compliance
+ Assist HSE Manager with on-going coordination of safety communications, meetings, and awareness activities
+ Maintain records of employee safety shoes and eyeglass reimbursements
+ Track and document all employee safety training
+ Track and document all employee safety reminders and required inspections (forklift, rigging equipment etc.)
+ Coordinate tracking all wastes that are removed from the facility, file manifests, and Certificates of Disposal
+ Assist HSE Manager in researching and responding to customer requests and other requests as needed
+ Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ US Citizenship is required due to government contracts
+ Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program (preferably Junior or Senior), in the following fields of study: Occupational Health or Manufacturing, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering
+ Experience in Health, Safety, and the Environment (HSE)
+ Strong MS Office knowledge, especially in Excel and Word
+ Excellent communication and organization skills
+ Energetic and self-motivated with the ability to work individually or as part of a team
+ High attention to detail
+ Ability to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment
