Job Title: Health and Safety Consultant Job Description Produce safety analysis and support for islands and shipside activities. Contribute to the assessment, implementation, and sustainment of crucial safety programs. Provide expert technical mentorship to ensure practices align with safety regulations, standards, and codes. Craft and implement documentation, training, assessment, and audit activities for safety-critical processes. Responsibilities + Model safe behaviors at all times and encourage team members, peers, and partners to do the same. + Interpret and apply safety and health standards, manufacturer’s requirements, programs, rules, and policies. + Participate in project reviews to identify and promote safety and health improvements in procedures and practices. + Ensure integration of sustainable and efficient safety processes and procedures to align with safety standards. + Assess safety performance of critical practices and procedures through examination, data review, incident history, and audits. + Observe and understand the business, its culture, and opportunities. + Explore challenges in producing 'safe outcomes' for Guests and Crew and understand internal processes for incorporating safety plans. + Partner with team members and SMEs on the development, update, or modification of safety documentation. + Assist in the development and implementation of compliance-related processes and procedures, including internal and external safety standards. + Partner with team members and SMEs on the development and implementation of training, assessment, and audit activities for safety-critical processes. + Review the Safety Management System. + Clearly communicate progress and provide regular updates to the Manager, Performance Alignment Project. Essential Skills + 3+ years of safety/public health management experience. + Knowledge of OSHA/regulatory requirements and industry standards. + Participation in occasional 2nd and 3rd shift work or off-site work. + Proven ability to use analytics and identify trends. + Flexibility and ability to operate in an ambiguous and changing environment. + Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. + Strong consultative and influencing skills. + Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a cross-functional team. + Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or Public Health required. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Advanced degree in Occupational Safety or Public Health preferred. + Certified Safety Professional. + Experience with the Performance Alignment model. + Previous experience with the cruise line industry. + Familiarity with maritime standards (IMO), CLIA standards. Work Environment The team is onsite 4 days a week (Monday - Thursday) with Friday being remote (subject to change). There is a 25% likelihood of travel Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
