MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform fiscal duties for assigned functions that include reviewing, processing, and maintenance of basic accounting or fiscal records.#oj MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES: + At least 18 years of age. + Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English. + U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card. + Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated. + No illegal drug usage within the past year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis. + High school diploma or General education degree (GED) AND three (3) years related experience and/or training OR the equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience to include: finance, accounting, record keeping, human resources. + Ability to process payments and maintains financial records to ensure accuracy. Ability ti prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports. + Ability to review requisitions from agency departments to verify completeness and adherence to agency procurement policies. Issue purchase orders from approved requisitions to vendors. + Ability to verify invoices from vendors against requisitions and purchase orders, ensures receivers are signed by ordering departments, forwarded to A/P for payment. + Ability to maintain reports on incoming requisitions, travel forms and purchase orders issued for the month in order to track the amount processed. + Ability to maintain current records on financed lease purchases and update records as monthly payments are made. Verify invoices from suppliers with bids and purchase orders; approves invoices for payment. + Ability to coordinate the administration of agency-wide petty cash. + Ability to assist in Invitation for Bid, Requests for Proposal, and Request for Letters of Interest process. + Must have knowledge of financial procedures and the ability to calculate figures, percentages, discounts and interest. + Must have problem solving abilities and be detail oriented. + Ability to write reports and business correspondence. + Must have the ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors and agency employees and managers. + Ability to express, apply, and demonstrate thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal legislative, regulatory, and judicial requirements; and Sheriff’s Office organizational, operational, and administrative policy and procedures. + Must have the ability to learn and utilize specialized applications and informational systems. + Must have basic computer skills to include word processing database and spreadsheet applications.
