**Summary**
The Facilities Field Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the inspection, maintenance, and renovation of facility structures to ensure compliance with all building codes, safety standards, and project specifications. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, construction practices, and building inspection processes. The Facilities Field Engineer will collaborate with architects, contractors, project managers, and local authorities to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant facilities.

**Physical Demands & Work Environment**
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty-five pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to seventy-five pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
• This job is in Florida, with exposure to intense sun, intense heat, humidity, rain, thunderstorms, and other adverse weather conditions
• Job site conditions may or may not be accessible by vehicle and can include wetlands, swamps, grasslands, and fields with uneven surfaces, sand, brush, and other natural and man-made obstacles
• This job is primarily and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and construction sites where the noise level is usually moderate to loud
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Conduct thorough inspections of building systems and structures, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural elements, to assess compliance with applicable codes and regulations
+ Identify safety and compliance issues, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to ensure that all facilities meet local, state, and federal standards
+ Develop and implement engineering solutions for facility renovations, repairs, and upgrades to improve efficiency, functionality, and safety
+ Provide technical support and oversight on construction sites, addressing design modifications, unforeseen challenges, and project-specific adjustments
+ Coordinate and monitor construction and maintenance projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
+ Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to communicate requirements, solve on-site issues, and approve work progress
+ Conduct quality assurance audits to ensure that building systems are functioning optimally and meet design specifications
+ Identify potential risks and hazards in the field, implementing safety measures and protocols to minimize liability and maintain a safe working environment
+ Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies in building engineering and inspection
+ Train and mentor team members on best practices in building inspection, field engineering, and safety compliance
+ Follows safety procedures
+ Other duties as assigned
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Valid Florida Driver’s License with acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria)
+ Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities engineering, building inspection, or construction project management
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
+ Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
+ Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction materials
+ Proficient in field inspection tools, construction management software, and AutoCAD or similar design software
+ Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions in fast-paced environments
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills for detailed report writing and stakeholder communication
+ Capable of working under minimal supervision
+ Strong team player
+ Previous experience preferably in an AEC industry
