Experienced Journeyman Lineperson
This position assists with installation, operation, maintenance and repair of overhead electrical power lines and systems.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
+ Assists in the construction, operation, maintenance and repair of distribution, substation facilities and systems including reconductoring existing lines.
+ Attend to service calls concerning power outages and electrical problems.
+ Receives training both in book/classroom skills and on the job skills. Must continue to pass ongoing training to proceed to higher skill/job levels.
+ Work will be performed at varying heights above ground, in manholes, and/or in confined spaces.
+ Operates motorized equipment, use hand tools, and perform routine maintenance on
+ electrical equipment, machinery, and tools.
+ Follows safety guidelines as part of training.
+ Stocks and services vehicles to be equipped to respond to emergency situations.
+ Works nights, weekends, and holidays for extended periods; required to perform duties as part of recovery force during emergencies and disasters.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.
+ Possess problem-solving mental cognition.
+ Able to:
+ work with hands above head for extended periods of time.
+ walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, performing mentally/physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions while handling equipment or material.
+ meet and maintain weight restrictions for bucket truck and all other existing equipment as identified by manufacturer.
+ work efficiently and effectively from heights.
+ identify the hazards on the job.
+ climb a power pole using climbing hooks and belt.
+ drive all vehicles assigned to the line crew, operate digger derrick to set poles, and use jackhammer, etc.
+ work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.
Education & Experience
+ Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required.
Pre-Screen
+ Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
License & Certifications:
+ Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required.
Travel Requirements:
+ Responds to emergencies during holidays, weekends and national disasters.
+ May require travel away from show up area
Physical Requirements:

Safety
Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
+ Works around hazardous equipment.
+ Works with energized parts or equipment.
+ Works around excessive noise from machines, jackhammers, chain saws and other equipment with proper hearing protection.
