StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking a Part-Time Engineering Technologist and Technician to join our team in supporting the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Orlando, Fl.(This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) governed position).NAWCTSD is the Navys principal center for modeling, simulation and training systems technologies. The Engineering Technologist will be responsible for the following duties:
**Essential Job Functions:**
- Support laboratory and other technical efforts with emphasis on computer hardware, software, modeling and simulation, and human performance.
- Perform work assignments of limited scope and difficulty designed to provide advanced practical application and experience of theories and principles in engineering and scientific fields of specialization.
- Assist higher level professional personnel by carrying out complete projects of limited scope or narrow aspects of broader projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
**Experience Requirements:**
- Completion of a minimum of 60 hours of undergraduate course work including the foundational sciences and mathematics typically associated with the first two years of a specified majors curriculum.
- Requires knowledge of scientific and engineering principles and theories of the type, scope, and thoroughness typically acquired through the course of study in a field of relevant technical specialization.
- Basic knowledge of computer programming, electronics, problem definition and analysis, research methods, data analysis, and presentation of results.
- Ability to communicate with clarity and correct grammar and mechanic
**Education Requirements:**
- Enrolled in an accredited educational institution and pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in a relevant scientific or technical field.
**Security Requirements:**
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
**Benefits covered under Service Contract Act (SCA) governed position:**
This position is covered by the Service Contract Labor Standard (formerly known as the Service Contract Act of 1965) and the applicable Wage Determination. As such, selected candidates are entitled to both the hourly wages, as well as health and welfare benefits established by the Department of Labor to prevail in the locality. StraCon is fulfilling the health and welfare benefit requirement through the use of a bona fide plan which includes certain insurance coverage.
