Join us. **Job Description** AECOM’s Ecological Resources Team is seeking a full-time entry-level Scientist (Wildlife Biologist/ Botanist /Field Ecologist) for immediate employment in the Orlando, FL office. The appropriately qualified candidate will be a dynamic individual, capable of conducting field surveys and delivering high-quality technical reports. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Gathering, organizing, and analyzing field data to be used in the preparation of scientific reports + Conducting environmental impact assessments and field surveys for rare, threatened, or endangered species and their habitats + Conducting habitat assessments and vegetation classifications, including wetland delineations + Preparing high-quality technical reports and environmental permit application packages + May require working long field days outdoors, sometimes under rigorous conditions (e.g., hot and/or rainy weather, remote areas, in a variety of habitats) **Qualifications** Minimum Qualifications: + BA/BS in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Botany, or other closely related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. + Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review. + Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with field data collection, data review, and preparation of technical documents + Working knowledge of applicable federal and state environmental laws and regulations (Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, NEPA, etc.) as they relate to biological resource impacts and environmental permitting + Self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail, good time-use skills, and ability to work in a team environment + Excellent analytical, judgment, and problem-solving capabilities + Ability to handle the demands of multiple priorities for various clients and projects + Highly effective verbal and written communication skills; extremely proficient in technical writing; highly effective organization and multi-tasking skills + Must be a self-starter and motivated in producing high-quality results + Must be proficient with MS Office applications **Additional Information** + Relocation is not available for this position. + Sponsorship is not available for this position. + Willingness and availability to travel occasionally (within Florida) Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
