About the Company: Central Florida Communities, Inc. (CFC) has warm, welcoming, home-inspired facilities and programs for individuals with developmental disabilities in Orange, Brevard, Lake and Seminole Counties. CFC operates three 64-bed Intermediate Care Facilities for the Developmentally Disabled (ICF/DD's), Howell Branch Court, Lake View Court and Washington Square. As a member of our staff, you will be a part of one of these living centers and provide vital around the clock care, which includes nursing and medical oversight, to our residents. Facility Name and Address: Washington Square 1401 North US Highway 1 Titusville - 32796 Purpose: The DSPS position supervise and assist the DSP Leads and other direct care staff to ensure the proper care of our clients. These include but are not limited to daily grooming, meal service, risk mitigation and following any applicable behavioral management plans as defined by the resident individual needs. Essential Duties: Supervise the entire facility ensuring a smooth flow of activities on a routine basis by monitoring staffing, call-outs, emergencies and staff problems. Ensure daily assignments are provided for all staff to ensure daily implementation of resident’s schedule and housekeeping. Complete rounds in each house with the oncoming DSPS at change of shift and ensure all pertinent information has been communicated. Ensure debriefing is completed with each house DSP-Lead at the beginning of the shift. Visually supervise residents and DSP’s in direct care settings to ensure ongoing quality care of residents by staff. Conduct initial contacts and information gathering as part of the investigation process for all client and staff incidents or any variance at the facility. Implements electronic and paper documentation of training needs including programming, incident reporting (GERs), data collection and behavior observations. Plan, generate and maintain weekly staffing schedules. Keep schedule up to date on a daily basis. Periodically conduct observations and participate in clients’ day program to ensure proper day services are provided. Demonstrates understanding of, and complies with, all policies related to safety. Performs work safely and without injury to self or others. Identifies hazards or dangerous behaviors in the environment and takes immediate action to avoid, mitigate or eliminate, and report hazardous conditions or unsafe behaviors. Ensures the safety of self, residents/consumers, co-workers, families, guardians and visitors at all times. Required Qualification: High School Diploma or equivalent education is required. Four years relative experience or a 4 year college degree and 2 years experience in Developmental Disabilities. Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience preferred.
