**Contract Specialist** Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL **Job Summary:** ZelTech is seeking a Contract Specialist to support Government Contracting Officers/Specialist, CORS, and program/project managers. This candidate will facilitate the planning preparation, coordination, quality checking, editing and tracking of acquisition actions to procure a wide range of materials and services in accordance with federal DoD acquisition and financial management regulations. **Requirements:** - BA/BS degree or higher - In lieu of degree, five (5) or more years ofexperience. - Active Top-Secret or higher security clearance - Obtain an SCI nomination and pass a Polygraph within 90 days of employment. - Must be a US citizen. - Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR and acquisition planning. - Experience with Cost Type contracts along with RandD contracting. - Must be familiar with working in Federal government Information Systems (IS) environments to include Department of Defense (DOD), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and other relevant agencies or organizations. ```{=html} ``` - Communication skills in order to explain the progress and results of the work to them. - Multitasking skillsand set priorities within a team environment. - Experience administering cost plus, time and material, and firm fixed price contracts. - Experience in DoD contracting. - FAR and DFAR knowledge and familiarity. - Knowledge of acquisition process. - Coordinate consultants and purchase orders. - DAWIA Level II Certification. - Interpersonal skills. - Work well independently or as part of a group. - Writing skills, as there may be a requirement to write reports. - Successful background and drug screening check. **Preferred Requirements**: - Five (5) or more years of experience performing contract administration. - Level III DAWIA or FAC-C certification in the field of contracting or its equivalent. - Experience using the government Contract Management System (CMS) **Responsibilities:** - Perform market research, analysis and preparation of cost estimates in support of life cycle acquisition activities. - Support Project Officers (and CORs) in the development of contractual documents for PR packages. - Review PR packages for formatting, consistency, appropriate markings, ensure correct template is used, and review CDRLs (DD 1423-2). - Examine and evaluate budget estimates for completeness, accuracy and conformance with procedures and regulations. - Track, update, and report on budget execution. Input accurate and timely project costs into DIA accounting systems. - Identify deficiencies in the flow of and collect missing information. - Interpret reports from varied accounting systems to include DIA-unique systems. - Support establishment and implementation of SOPs to support program management reviews and financial and performance audits. - Support ATI personnel with special projects to include scheduling and agenda preparation for visitors. - Establish and maintain files of official Government documentation in both paper and electronic form to be readily accessible and searchable. - Plan and implement internal business processes to ensure the successful completion of operational tasking. - Create and maintain contract files and documentation. - Participate in trade studies to solve technical problems and identify preferred solutions. - Participate in technical reviews to assess project progress from design through development and delivery. - Serve as a critical user team member on Division wide, multidisciplinary efforts that involve critical IT issues. - Comply with CCAFS industrial hygiene requirements. - Conduct research as required. - Perform other duties as assigned **Physical Demands or Work Environment:** The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
