We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Supervisor for Water Supply Network to join our team in Nauru.
The Construction Supervisor for Water Supply Network will play a key role in the Nauru Sustainable and Resilient Urban Development Project (SRUDP) to support the Government of Nauru in increasing sustainability, resilience, access, quality and safety urban services of water supply, sanitation and solid waste management across Nauru.
The project duration for this is 28 months and will require onsite assignment for at least 10 months in a year.
Key responsibilities:
+ Oversee the construction of the water supply works package and shall be supported by one locally recruited and trained construction auditor
+ Manage and supervise construction contractor and supply of instrumentation and equipment for the construction of pump stations and tank reservoir
+ Responsible for establishing and maintaining and working quality management systems for the water supply network
+ Provide Environment, Health and Safety oversight for the project duration
+ Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering or any related field
+ Minimum of minimum of 10 years’ experience with at least 5 years directly supervising the construction of water supply networks (pipelines)
+ Must be amenable to do onsite assignment for at least 10 months each year of the CSC contract
+ Experience with excavation, HDPE pipe welding, pavement construction and the installation of associated mechanical equipment
+ Extensive knowledge and experience managing and supervising construction contractors in small island developing states in the Pacific is desired
+ Strong communication skills and an in depth understanding of quality management and quality record keeping
+ Must be detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently and/or as part of a team
