Seconds count in an emergency, and every caregiver plays an essential role in ensuring ED patients receive the immediate attention they need. As Clinical Technician on this team, you will collaborate with fellow healthcare staff to support the ED via various patient care and room maintenance tasks. This position is critical to the organizational and functional flow of the unit, and you can make a lasting difference through your work every day.

A caregiver in this position works evenings, 10:00AM - 10:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley Catheters.

  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.

  • Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.

  • Complete an internal training program within two weeks of start date.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

  • One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited Nursing School Program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.

  • Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
