As Clinical Manager, you will provide support, education and leadership to technical staff and caregivers in the Imaging Department. You will perform various radiation procedures while collaborating with leadership to develop and implement improvement initiatives and goals. This position offers a great opportunity to learn new skills through extensive hands-on clinical experience in a fast-paced, exciting healthcare environment.
**A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM - 5:00PM.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Establish quality improvement, fiscal productivity and patient satisfaction goals and objectives in conjunction with upper management.
+ Extract pertinent information from performance assessment and improvement studies, initiate corrective action plans and re-monitor results.
+ Monitor and assist with the collection, documentation and reporting of performance assessment and improvement data.
+ Conduct yearly competency reviews for all Technologists.
+ Delegate responsibilities when appropriate to provide job growth and learning opportunities.
+ Assist in coordinating on-call and staffing schedules with the Clinical Coordinator.
+ Monitor resource utilization, supplies and expenses.
+ Evaluate existing systems, processes, equipment and products and recommend alternatives as needed.
+ Ensures department compliance with JCAHO and/or all applicable governmental agencies.
+ Coordinate and assist in answering scheduling and patient information questions, including procedures with the appropriate Radiologist, department, nursing floor and departmental staff.
+ Assist in developing and reviewing the process for charges occurred during procedures.
+ Enter and audit all procedural charges.
+ Create ad-hoc reports for the department as assigned.
+ Appoint a designee to act as team leader in his/her absence.
+ Respond to beeper communications within appropriate time frame.
+ Responsibly document patient allergies and pertinent medical surgical history.
+ Obtain all pertinent lab results as required.
+ Consult with Radiologist regarding contraindications to ordered exam.
+ Communicate and act according to age specific recommendations.
+ Maintain emergency supplies and crash carts according to departmental, clinic and hospital policy.
+ Respond to emergency situations (e.g., contrast reactions and medical emergencies) according to departmental, clinic, and hospital policy.
+ Prior to transporting a patient who is connected to O2, a cardiac monitor, or any other device, always contact a nurse.
+ Assist Nursing with the correct requisition, exam, preps and length of time a patient will be in the department.
+ Always advise the nurse in charge of the patient of any unusual occurrence which happened to the patient while in Imaging Department. Always consults with physician or Nursing on any error or diagnosis related discrepancy observed on the exam requisition.
+ Responsibly complete all ordering, scheduling and billing processes.
+ Immediately reports any equipment malfunctions to supervisor and/or technical representative.
+ Orient new personnel and assist in their transition to the work environment as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
+ Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(ARRT), in good standing
+ Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT) dependent on modality
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
+ Knowledge of Federal and State regulations
+ Three to five years of experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging setting

**Physical Requirements:**
+ This position requires a mixture of moderate to heavy work as defined in the Employee Health Services Policy.
+ Physical requirements include frequent walking, sitting and standing. Frequent usage of the phone and computer. Frequent pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling and crouching.
+ Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team; ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers.
+ Special Demands: Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities; self-starting and self-motivating; working hours may exceed eight (8) hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish work at hand.
+ Confidentiality: Has limited access to the medical record for the purpose of verifying orders in the charts or prescription and to sign off after exam completion. In addition, in this position the employee will be limit the PHI disclosed or requested to the amount reasonable necessary to achieve the purpose of the request. The disclosures or requests that occur on a routine or recurring basis include every patient's orders need to be verified prior to the exam. The employee makes these disclosures for the purpose of making sure that the correct exam is performed due to the doctors orders as well as signing off that the exam was completed of the request. The employee makes these disclosures for the purpose of verifying orders in the charts or prescription and to sign.
