Applicants with experience that exceeds the minimum may be considered for a higher-level Avionics Engineering position. - Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. - Pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use. - Previous experience working with wire crimping and connector soldering and experience with engineering drawings, wire diagrams, and electrical schematics. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/365 including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. - Experience with avionics manufacturing and operation of related test equipment. - Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions. - Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC/ WHMA-A-620, MIL-DTL-22520, NASA-STD-8739, J-STD-001, and ANSI/ESD S20.20. - Proficient in using measurement tools and understanding basic math concepts. **Preferred:** - Bachelor's degree in a related field. - Experience in a manufacturing role in aerospace or similar industry, with a focus on avionics or harness fabrication. - Experience as a technical leader. - Electromechanical systems and assembly background. - IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-620 certification, NASA space addendum 8739.4 certified. Cimarron is seeking an Avionics Lead Technician to support the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) program. The ML2 will be used, like the first mobile launcher, as the platform for assembling and testing the Space Launch System (SLS) in the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center, transporting the rocket to Launch Complex 39B, and supporting the vehicle's launch. The platform includes various interfaces for fueling the rocket, providing power and data, and a crew access arm. **Key Duties:** - Install avionic components and systems, ensuring operational reliability and adherence to design specifications. - Read instructions, such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine the materials needed and the assembly sequence. - Mount and install components, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), relays, contactors, switches, and terminal blocks in panel enclosures. - Assemble cables, buses, and electromechanical systems. - Measure, cut, solder, and/or crimp wire and contacts to fabricate wire harnesses. - Conduct detailed installations, including intricate cable harness configurations, ensuring all avionic installations meet safety and quality standards. - Inspect, test, and verify avionics assemblies against technical models, drawings, specifications, and work instructions. - Troubleshoot avionic system issues, including necessary modifications, rework, repairs, or maintenance to resolve malfunctions. - Ensure the optimal function of avionics systems by conducting thorough inspections, cleanings, measurements, and testing activities. - Understand and adhere to quality management systems standards, requirements, and procedures. - Collaborate with teams to perform in-field harness installations. - Lead continuous improvement efforts in avionic installation processes, prioritizing safety and operational efficiency. - Maintain a collaborative team environment, effectively balancing multiple priorities and adapting to rapidly evolving project needs. **Cimarron is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer, M/F/Disability/Veteran.** ::: ::: {#job_details_ats_requisition_requirements} :::
