POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the painter operates and maintains painting equipment to paint aircraft parts to specification. This position will assist production technicians with preparing aircraft parts for inspections by using solvent cleaners, as well as applying tape to and removing tape from parts and components.

**Essential Functions Statement(s)

Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as dual action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms and paint sprayers; sealants; paint strippers and corrosion-preventive chemicals; and use protective equipment as required.
Comply with safety rules and procedures and be alert for unsafe conditions.
Safely perform preparation, painting and detailing under minimal supervision.
Coordinate with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality inspection.
Mix paints to manual specifications, then stir and thin the paints, using spatulas or power mixing equipment.
Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from surfaces in preparation for paint application using abrasives, solvents, brushes, or sandblasters.
Monitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and correct their causes.
Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning duties.
